I am posting 100 pictures from my travels around British Columbia, Rocky Mountains/Rokies (BC & Alberta) and Coast Mountains located at the West coast of BC and Yukon. Coast Mountains are accessible only in a few locations. They are the highest mountains of Canada (BC & Yukon).
The Rocky Mountains/Rokies of BC & Alberta were very scenic, quite developed in last few years and surprisingly busy already in the beginning of June. Most of National Parks-NP in BC & Alberta require visitor pass, which can be purchased for different time durations.
It is tricky to get nice weather at Columbia Icefield, Athabasca Glacier, Jasper NP. They generate their own localized microclimate, making weather forecasting incredibly difficult and conditions highly unpredictable.
The Lake Louise in Banff NP has now very expensive day parking due to increase in popularity and crowd managements. The Moraine Lake is now accessible by bus shuttle only.
The Canmore is now well developed city with nice mountains in the background, similar to Whistler, BC. Canmore use to be just a small village a few years ago.
The Columbia Icefield between Banff & Jasper NP - Athabasca Glacier is now at least 2 KM away from original position 30 years ago (shrinking due to warmer climate).
British Columbia has fairly small population (approx. 5.5 million), most of people live in big cities. This means that there are a large areas without any population/settlements.
The Interior Plateau (central BC) is very dry in some areas (semi desert) because Coast Mountains absorb a lot of moisture coming from Pacific Ocean.
Pleasantly, most of the roads were in good condition. I left early in the June before the fire season kicked in (July, August, September), which can make travelling much more complicated.
It was very interesting drive (6.600 km) and I visited many new places. British Columbia is large and beautiful province of Canada.

I found out not too long ago, that all the pictures disappeared from my blogs from 2010-2013 due to export/import from WordPress to Blogger. It took a few days to renew all these blogs, all good now!
I would like to mention, that purpose of publishing this blog is to share pictures of interesting places from my travels. I am not getting paid (monetized) for publishing this blog.
