It is presently winter time in Vancouver B.C.. We have little bit warmer winter so far due to mild El Nino episode. However there is enough snow on local mountains above the city and at Whistler. This works well for ski industry and city as well. City of Vancouver usually does not get much of snow during the winter, because of warmer air flow from Pacific Ocean.
I have spent second half of the summer inside the Strait of G., because West Coast of B.C. - Pacific Ocean coast gets foggy during August and September. Most of my traveling with the boat was within central Strait of Georgia. It is less busy in main summer boating season there. Busiest boating area in B.C. during the summer is Northern part of Strait of Georgia - Desolation Sound.
Sea water in this area gets quite warm in the summer, that is why it is so popular with the boaters. Cold Ocean currents do NOT reach remote areas of inner waters.
We had some Humpback whales hanging around inside waters most of the summer, which is quite unusual. It is good to have them there together with Orca whales and Porpoises (similar to Dolphins). Marine traffic is increasing everywhere, so it is nice to see some positive signs of marine life.
Short visit to Whistler ski resort was little bit of change from boating path during the summer.
Whistler is actually very enjoyable during summer as well. There are several waterfalls near Whistler and on the way from Vancouver. Whistler has plenty of outdoor activities available! Several fresh water lakes do have warm water for swimming during the summer. Plenty of hiking and biking trails, golfing, tennis and all kinds of new activities at Whistler and Blackcomb ski areas. Summer skiing on glaciers is also available. Whistler has also public indoor swimming pool and hockey ring.
I used to live and work at Whistler a long time ago. It is amazing to see how many good changes have been made in this World class ski resort in last few years. Winter Olympics in 2010 made Whistler very attractive for business and real estate investments.
Photos from Vancouver have been taken in November 2018, which is fall season in British Columbia. We do have 4 seasons in British Columbia. Many of You are familiar with 4 seasons climate. My blog is being viewed around the World these days and some viewers in tropical areas are not too familiar with 4 seasons climate. I had to learn a lot about tropical and subtropical climates my self to be able to sail there.
Weather forecasting slowly became my hobby. It is very interesting to learn how our Planet functions weather/climate wise.
The World seems to be pretty upset lately. My personal advice to anyone is to appreciate to be alive and well!!! The life is very fragile!!!
